Bellow the Bishop's Coat of Arms there is a drawing of a scroll with a motto placed in Latin, the universal language of the Church.
The Bishop's motto is not a secondary thing. In some words he consideres important he tries to express synthetically his way of life as Succesor of the Apostles.
The Bishop of Ayaviri's motto is taken from the Sacred Scriptures. Mihi enim vivere Christus est, that means My life is Christ (Phil 1:21.)
The same motto appears in the logo of the Prelature, in Kechua, the mother tongue of around 65% of the faithfull living in the Prelature of Ayaviri. Ñoccapa causainiicca ricui Cristom, "My Life is Crist".
The Kechua wording of the Motto was taken from the official translation of the Sacred Scriptures done by Bishop Florencio Coronado Romani, C. Ss. R., Emmeritus Bishop of Huancavelica, Translation Director, Bishop William Molloy Mc Dermott
