Puno, July 21 – With the slogan “Rebuilding the Faces of Children and Adolesents,” CARITAS Puno, the Municipal Office for Attention to Disables Persons (OMAPED) and the provincial association of Puno launched the Share solidarity campaign whose goal is to gather funds in order to put a smile back on the faces of minors who suffer from congenital deformations.
Present during the celebration were Caritas´ administrator, Elizabeth Quilca Zapana; the municipal manager, Romio Quintanilla and the responsible for OMAPED Puno, Hermelinda Castro among others. If all goes well the collection will take place next August 18, and the parroquial activity on August 26. The organizers initiated the campaign on July 20 with a workshop for teachers as a preparation for what will be a great crusade of charity according to the administrator of Caritas Puno. Every year around 700 children are born with oral deformations, informed Quilca Zapana.
