Ayaviri, August 4 - In the last few days Bishop Kay Martín visited some of the localities of the province of Carabaya. This province has the peculiarity of being composed of both high plane and jungle regions. In the district of Ollachea (2725 meters above sea level) he celebrated the Eucharist with Father Hedmer Mamani, in which a large group of young people belonging to the local parish youth group participated.

On the way to Corani (4000 meters above sea level) the villagers of the village of Isivilla organized a warm welcome for the Bishop who, not having planned a stop in the village, stayed and shared with the people.

The people of this little village are very poor and suffer greatly from the cold since they live more than 5000 meters above sea level. The Bishop visited some of the village's sick, blessed them and prayed for them.

In Corani Bishop Kay Martín was received by the local authorities who offered him a typical regional dish. He there spoke with the people about their pastoral and material necessities.
