Ayaviri, April 9, 2007 - The Easter Vigil, the most important Mass of the year, in which the whole Church celebrates the Resurrection of the Lord, was celebrated in the evening of Saturday of Glory in a Cathedral filled with flowers and packed with people. The candles the faithful carried lit up the whole Cathedral, which had been filled with an atmosphere of celebration and Christian joy. Close to 30 adults were baptized and confirmed and receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist for the first time.
Resurrection Sunday saw the same numbers turn out and also saw 20 children and young people receive the sacraments of Christian initiation
The Easter celebration thus finished among expressions of joy and a beautiful sharing on behalf of the families of the recently baptized.
The missions which took place two months ago in the Parish of Saint Francis of Assissi , of this city, yielded one of their most beautiful fruits in the form of the brothers and sisters who received the Sacraments for the first time.
Holy Triduum culminates with 50 Baptisms and 25 Confirmations
